Independence, Issue 43 (Spring 2008)

LASIG Newsletter

From the Editor

This is another very full issue, and I’d like to thank all the authors for their interesting, experientially driven and often story-based contributions. A special thanks also to Androulla Athanasiou for her continuing help with formatting. We apologise in advance if this doesn’t reach you before the IATEFL conference but we tried our best! And  I’m very glad to report that from next issue Andy Barfield will be coming on board as co-editor. Andy has been active editing books in the field of learner autonomy, including one which is reviewed towards the end of this issue. He was also an editor of the JALT Learner Development SIG newsletter Learning Learning for a number of years.

We've received some positive feedback about the "new-look" Independence, but we're concerned it should be as useful and interesting as possible, and for this we need your input and suggestions. We hope to publish more correspondence in future issues, for example, so if there is anything that's particularly interested you about this or other issues, or that particularly concerns you, or that you want to report on, please do drop us a line. Contributions of any kinds are always welcome!
